Terms of Service

Most terms of service are filled with pages of complicated legal jargon designed to shield companies from responsibility while removing your rights. Because SnipVault is an open, community-first utility, we believe in a simple, honest contract. These Terms govern your use of the SnipVault workspace and cloud sync network. By using SnipVault, you agree to these clear guidelines.

1. User Account Integrity

  • Password Protection: If you create a secure cloud synchronization profile, you are responsible for maintaining a strong password. We use secure salting and hashing protocols, but we cannot prevent unauthorized access if your password is weak.
  • No Fake Emails: We require a valid email to manage profile settings, sync validations, and password recoveries. Accounts linked to obvious burner/spam domains may be flagged to prevent automated database abuse.

2. Fair Use and Abuse Restrictions

SnipVault is provided completely free of charge. In return, we expect fair and honest usage from our engineering community:

STRICT PROHIBITIONS: Do not use SnipVault to host malicious software source codes (malware, exploits), run continuous scraper scripts designed to spam our auth routes, or upload illegal payload materials.

3. Service Uptime and Liability Limits

  • Infrastructure Hosting: SnipVault's cloud database is powered by Convex serverless hosting, aiming for 99.9% uptime. However, because our software is provided 100% free of charge, we offer no strict legal uptime guarantees.
  • Limitation of Liability: We are not liable for any snippet losses, connection dropouts, or data overwrites. We highly recommend using the Download Data (JSON) tool regularly to store local backups of your core snippet codebase.

4. Data Portability and Deletion Rights

You have an absolute right to take your code with you or erase it completely. You may export your database as a standard JSON schema at any time under "Manage Account". If you choose to purge your account, we trigger a script that completely and permanently deletes your credentials, category settings, and snippet payload blocks from our cloud servers. This deletion is absolute and cannot be undone.

5. Modifying These Guidelines

If we ever need to update these terms to reflect database schema upgrades or operational adjustments, we will notify you directly on the dashboard page. We will never sneak modifications past you or hide terms inside complex legal summaries.
